We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning and very rare Victorian Gothic Windsor Thames Valley chair based on the early George II design
A highly collectable and iconic chair, the George II 1760 versions sell around £10-£12,000 each, this is a late Victorian circa version is solid mahogany which is highly collectable in its own right for all those that can’t afford the earlier models.

There is one in the Victorian and Albert museum, this is one of the closest to that actual design I have ever seen, the Georgian Irish shield top legs are very close

Often also referred to as the “Strawberry hill “ design after the Gothic Revival house that was remodelled by Horace Walpole in the 3rd quarter of the 18th century that futures distinct Gothic shaped windows. The most sophisticated and elegant of all Windsor chairs and the most sought after today. The chair is totally original, structurally sound and in great condition for its age. There is a minor surface crack towards the front of the set as can be seen in the pictures.
